Publishing Templates
Share your automations with the FlowStack community by publishing them as marketplace templates.
Who Can Publish?
All users on Pro plans and above can publish templates. Free plan users can browse and install templates but cannot publish.
Preparing Your Template
Before publishing, ensure your template is:
- Tested — Run it multiple times to verify it works reliably
- Documented — Add clear descriptions to each step
- Generalized — Remove hardcoded values specific to your account (use placeholder names like "Your Slack Channel")
- Clean — Remove unused steps, test data, and personal information
Publishing Steps
- Open the flow you want to publish
- Click Publish to Marketplace (or go to Marketplace → My Templates → Publish)
- Fill in the template details:
- Title — Clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Slack notification when Stripe payment received")
- Description — What the template does, step by step
- Category — Primary category (Marketing, Sales, DevOps, etc.)
- Tags — Keywords for discoverability (e.g., "slack", "stripe", "payments", "notification")
- Configuration Guide — Instructions for users to customize after installing
- Price — Free or set a price for premium templates
- Click Submit for Review
Review Process
Submitted templates go through a review process:
- Automated checks — Validates the flow structure and required connections
- Manual review — The FlowStack team reviews for quality and safety
- Approval — Template is published to the Marketplace (typically within 48 hours)
- Rejection — You receive feedback on what to improve
Template Guidelines
Templates are accepted if they:
- Solve a real use case that others would benefit from
- Are well-documented with clear descriptions
- Don't contain malicious code or spam
- Don't expose sensitive data or credentials
- Work reliably (tested before submission)
Managing Published Templates
View and manage your templates at Marketplace → My Templates:
- View stats — Install count, rating, reviews
- Update — Submit a new version with improvements
- Unpublish — Remove the template from the Marketplace
Versioning
When you update a published template:
- Make changes to the flow
- Click Update Template
- The new version goes through review
- Once approved, the Marketplace listing is updated
- Existing installations are not affected — users keep their current version
